Our Authors

Said Aminov is a 1994 cum-laude graduate of the Moscow Bauman National University of Technology specializing in aviation instruments and systems; in 1998, he graduated from the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation specializing in banking. He has been working in the Russian banking system servicing corporate customers since 1994. As of 1999, he operates his own on-line project Air-Defense Herald (pvo.su), dealing with various issues of air and missile defense.

Mikhail Barabanov. Graduated from the Moscow National University of Culture, then worked for the Moscow City Government. Editor-in- Chief of MDB since 2008, he is an expert on naval history and armaments.

Sergey Denisentsev. Graduated from the Masters program in Geography at Moscow National Univeristy. Currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST) researcher since January 2007.

Andrei Frolov. Graduated with honours degree from the Faculty of Foreign Affairs of Saint Petersburg State University and in 2003 from French-Russian Masters’ School of Political Science and International Relations. In 2003–2004 – researcher at the Center for Policy Studies in Russia (PIR-Center), executive editor of Yaderny Kontrol magazine (in Russian). In 2004 – project manager of Export control system transformation in Russia in 1999–2003 programme.

Vyacheslav Tseluyko is a 2002 graduate of the Kharkiv Karazin National University Physics and Technology Department. He is currently a research fellow at the Political Science Desk of the same university. His specialized area of research is nongovernmental armed formations and armed forces of former Soviet republics. He defended his candidate PhD dissertation on the topic in 2008.

Vasiliy Kashin, PhD. In 1996 graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Studies (Moscow), then worked for the Russian government bodies. Currently works as a senior research fellow of the Institute of Far East Studies (Moscow).
