Our Authors

Andrey Frolov. Graduated with honours degree from the Faculty of Foreign Affairs of Saint Petersburg State University and in 2003 from French-Russian Masters’ School of Political Science and International Relations.In 2003—2004 — researcher at the  Center for Policy Studies in Russia (PIR-Center), executive editor ofYaderny Kontrol magazine (in Russian). In  2004 — project manager of Export control system transformation in Russia in 1999—2003 programme. A Centre for Analysis of  Strategies and Technologies (CAST) researcher since January 2011.

Anton Khlopkov, Director of the Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS), member of the Advisory Board under the Russian Federation Security Council, chairman of the Moscow Nonproliferation Conference. Editor-in-Chief of  the Nuclear Club Journal. He graduated from the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI”. In 2000, he was a Visiting Fellow at  the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies. From 2000 to 2009 he has worked for the PIR Center (Center for Policy Studies in Russia), including as Executive Director (2007-2009).

Dmitry Kornev (born 1969 in Tomsk) graduated from the Sociology Department of Tomsk State University in 1993. In 2009 he became the editor-in-chief of http://militaryrussia.ru, a popular Russian blog about the latest Soviet and Russian military hardware. The blog offers a wealth of information in such areas as short and medium-range missile systems, missile defense systems, nuclear deepwater submersibles, etc.

Anton Lavrov. Graduated from the Tver State Technical University. An independent military analyst and one of the most prominent independent Russian researchers of the 2008 Russian-Georgian War.

Yuriy Lyamin born 1982 in Irkutsk. Graduated from the Russian and International Law faculty of the Baikal State University of Economics and Law. Author of several articles on the armed forces and armed conflicts in the Middle East. Currently works for the Armament Research Services company.

Natalya Pechorina is an observer working for RIA-Novsoti (Ukraine) news agency since 2014. She was the editor of the news bulletin “Ukrinform: Defense Industry and Aerospace News”. In 2000-2002 she was a news reporter with UNIAN, another Ukrainian news agency.

Aleksey Ramm. Observer for the Voyenno-Promyshlennyy Kuryer newspaper. Graduated from the Military University. Served in various capacities in the Siberian Military District before being appointed group lead in the MoD secretariat. Became a military observer after retirement from military service. Author of numerous articles about the development of the Russian Armed Forces. Covered the fighting in southeastern Ukraine as a military reporter.
